Staged in Los Angeles, the West Coast’s largest city and California’s anchor, Golden State of Cocktails celebrates all aspects of cocktail culture, both industry and consumer, from San Francisco to Los Angeles to San Diego and everywhere in between. Be a part of the inaugural event in one or more ways. From experiential interactive labs, take-away stations and brand immersion rooms to small- and large-scale parties, Golden State of Cocktails takes a hands-on approach to the learning experience and celebrates the best of what California cocktail culture is all about.

Each day there will be 3 Brand Immersion rooms open from 11am – 6pm. Wander in as many times as you like throughout the day and be transported to another place as the Brand Immersion rooms bring the spirits to life and engage all of your senses.

Labs

“A period of tuition during which student conduct experiments or practical exercises in a supervised environment.” Scheduled as 45 minute and 90 minute sessions, Labs are focused hands-on learning experiences aimed at educating industry professionals and enthusiasts alike. Want to learn about Flavor Bouncing? Or the art of blending? Perhaps how to get published or even avoid an audit. Are you here for the toys or how to make it rare? Learn how to open a bar or build it for speed. Feeling Sensory Overload? There will be a Lab on that too.

 

After applying for a Golden State of Cocktails pass, you will be sent a registration link and will be able to schedule the Labs you want to attend. To see the 2014 schedule, click here.

Take Aways

“The most important point of the lesson, it’s the one part you should carry with you to remember.”

Take Away Stations will be located throughout the event floor and will be open all day from 11am – 6pm. From photo booths to bottling your own cocktails, these stations are set up for you to visit at your own pace, when you want… but you will definitely take something away from it.

Golden State of Cocktails will take place in Downtown LA, known for some of Los Angeles’ best cocktail bars and dining.

The educational daytime events will take place on the Top Floor of the historic Los Angeles Times Building, located at 202 West 1st Street (at Spring Street). Evening events will take place around the Downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods.

Transportation
Public Transportation: The Metro Red Line subway connects Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood.

  • The Biltmore Hotel: Closest Metro Stop is Pershing Square (500 S Hill St, Los Angeles 90013).
  • LA Times Building: Closest Metro Stop is Civic Center/Grand Park (101 S Hill St, Los Angeles 90013)

There will be a shuttle between The Biltmore Hotel and The LA Times Building.

  • Golden State of Cocktails is focused on providing an exceptional educational experience. Taking education to another level, from Labs to Brand Immersive Environments to Take-Away Stations, all elements are interactive and hands-on and are guaranteed to inspire you.

    Educational Passes are available for 1 Day ($45 for payments received by Jan. 6th / $65 for payments received after Jan. 6th) or 3 Days ($100 for payments received by Jan. 6th / $140 for payments received after Jan. 6th). Evening events are ticketed separately.

    To apply for an industry pass, please submit the application. Once your application is approved, you will receive a link to register and pay. Be sure to submit the application BEFORE January 6th in order to receive the discounted rates.

I want to get involved, how can I?

Are you a member of the cocktail industry and want to get involved in one way or another? Email us at info@goldenstateofcocktails.com


What does a PASS get me?

A Golden State of Cocktails badge will give you access to the 6th Floor of the LA Times building for the educational portion of the event. One day passes will give you access for the day denoted on the badge. A three day pass will give you access into the building all three days of the event. Once inside the event, all Labs, Brand Immersion Environments, Take Away Stations and the Golden State Bar will be available to you.


Can I buy an individual ticket to a Lab, Brand Immersion Room or Take-Away Station?

No, individual educational tickets are not available. You must have a Day Pass or a 3 Day Pass. With this pass, you can attend any Lab or other activity taking place during the day on the 6th Floor of the LA Times building.


Do I need to register in advance for Labs or other Educational activities?

Seating is limited in the Labs. There will be opportunities to sign-up in advance for particular Labs. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.

Are there Media Passes?

There are a limited number of Media Passes available. Please submit an application by December 1, 2013. You will be notified on December 15, 2013.


Are there passes for members of the Industry?

A special price is available for Passes for Industry members. Please submit an application. Applications will be reviewed and responded to within 10 days of receipt.


Can you replace my lost badge?

No. We are unable to replace lost badges.


I bought a 3 Day Pass but cannot attend all three days. Can I share my pass with a friend?

Passes are available for single days or the full 3 days. Passes are non-transferable.


Are passes / tickets refundable or transferable?

Passes and Tickets are non-refundable. If you are not able to attend an event, Passes and Tickets can be transferred to a colleague or friend.


Where do I pick up my Badge and Tickets?

All tickets and badges can be picked up at Registration. A government issued ID will be required when picking up your badge/tickets. Registration location will be announced closer to the event date.


Are tickets available for evening events?

Individual tickets are sold for the evening events. Please refer to the “Tickets” section for a complete list of activities.


How do I get to the LA Times Building?

Please refer to the “Travel” Section for directions to the venue.


If I am driving to the event, where do I park?

Please refer to the “Travel” section for more information on parking
